Emmys 2022: Jamie Dornan and ‘The Tourist’ star in a drama series

After failing to win an Oscar for his role in Kenneth Branagh’s “Belfast,” Jamie Dornan tries to train him at the Emmys for his work on the HBO Max series “The Tourist.” It is assumed to fall into the categories of filled finite strings, diverse I learned exclusively that HBO submitted the show in the drama categories for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards.

The HBO series tells the story of a Northern Irish man who wakes up with amnesia in an Australian hospital. After clues to his identity, he attempts to find his own, while his past threatens to catch up with him. The series also stars Daniel MacDonald, Shalom Braun-Franklin, Alvor Dare Olafsson and Alex Demetriades.

Dornan comes on a brilliant year in the film which included two highly acclaimed performances. Nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Picture, “Belfast” earned Irish actor nominations from Critics Choice and Golden Globes. His other performance was tree climbing and story-singing Edgar in the hit comedy “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar” opposite Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo.

“The Tourist” was renewed for a second season by BBC producer, after it boasted top drama ratings in 2022. It launched with 12 million viewers, and all six episodes were the most-watched on BBC iPlayer in January.

Season two of “The Tourist” was written by BAFTA Award-winning producers and screenwriters Harry and Jack Williams (“The Missing”), who, along with Christopher Aird, will serve as executive producers for All3Media’s Two Brothers Pictures. Tommy Bolvin will produce for BBC One and Wire.

It is not yet confirmed whether Dornan will return for the second season. The first season has received great reviews from critics, currently sitting at 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and boasting a respectable 81 on Metacritic.

Currently, Dornan is filming “Heart of Stone” for Netflix and Skydance, opposite Gal Gadot (“Wonder Woman”) and Academy Award-nominated Sophie Okonedo (“Hotel Rwanda”). Directed by Tom Harper, the film is described as a thrilling spy thriller, with the plot kept a secret.
